ABOUT JOY

JOY Making a Difference Inc. After school program is a nonprofit 501c3 recipient of the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant, sponsored by the Department of Education. JOY services students in grades 7 through 12 and focus on Career Awareness and Exploration that implements program activities for students based around developing lifelong aspirations, making informed choices about college attendance and careers, identifying goals and the exposure to a wide range of career experiences.

Our Mission

Help families break the generational cycle of poverty ensuring that children achieve academic success. By helping youth ages 13-18  integrate academic, physical, artistic, cultural and social-emotional education.

Our Programs Are Designed To Help

Support greater academic outcomes and college and career readiness for participating students through remediation and enrichment programming.

Increase the capacity of parents and school staff to prepare students for success in college and careers beyond.

Increase parent and community level involvement in the education of low-income youth.

Positively affect the well-being and development of participating students through character education that focuses on building positive social connections and school attachment.
